University (Northern Ireland)

FOIA Schedule I Part IV includes:

• 55 - (1) The governing body of—

• (a) a university receiving financial support under Article 30 of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1993,

• (2) In sub-paragraph (1) “governing body” has the meaning given by Article 30(3) of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1993.

Article 30 provides for the Department of Education to among others, universities, and provides that "university" includes university colleges and colleges (and similar) of universities.

DEL's accounts for 2009/10 indicate that it provided funding to:

• Queen's University Belfast
• University of Ulster
• Stranmillis University College
• St Mary's University College
