Decision Summary

  • Case Ref: FS50076657
  • Date: 12/07/2006
  • Public Authority: Lancashire County Council
  • Summary: The complainant requested the home addresses for the governors of two local schools. The request was refused on the grounds that the information in question constituted personal data and that to disclose this information would breach the first data protection principle. Following an investigation the Commissioner is satisfied that the information would breach the Data Protection Act 1998. In addition the Commissioner has found that the supplied refusal notice was inadequate, but that the response was sent within the statutory time limit, although the complainant did not receive the letter.
