These appear to have been established under section 20 of the National Health Service Act 1977, and then continued in being by section 20A when it was inserted by the Health (Wales) Act 2003 and again by section 182 of the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006. FOIA Schedule I includes:
- 41 - A Community Health Council established under section 182 of the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006
From 1st April 2010, they're being re-organised by SI 2010/289, with the following being established:
- Aneurin Bevan Community Health Council (not on the main list)
- Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Community Health Council (not on the main list)
- Betsi Cadwaladr Community Health Council (not on the main list)
- Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Community Health Council (not on the main list)
- Cwm Taf Community Health Council (not on the main list)
- Hywel Dda Community Health Council (not on the main list)
